Quick answer
Omegle shut down in November 2023. KnotChat is a free alternative to its text mode: open knotchat.in or the Android app, pick your gender and age group, and get matched one-on-one with a random stranger in seconds. No account is needed, you can skip anytime, and text messages are never stored.
Why people switch to KnotChat
Truly anonymous
No email, phone number, or login. You pick a gender and age group and you're matched — nothing about you is stored, and chats are never saved.
Instant 1:1 matching
A serialized matchmaker pairs you with one waiting stranger at a time, so you're talking within seconds instead of staring at a queue.
Skip and report freely
Tap once to find a new stranger, or report anyone crossing the line. Moderation tooling runs server-side, not just in the UI.
