Quick answer
Omegle offered random video and text chat until it closed in November 2023. KnotChat is live today and focuses on anonymous one-on-one text chat with no signup. It adds optional gender and age filters, Knots to save people you click with, photos and voice notes, and icebreaker games in the Android app.

Frequently asked questions
Is KnotChat better than Omegle?
It depends what you want. For fast, anonymous text chat that's still online and doesn't store your messages, KnotChat is the better fit. If you specifically wanted Omegle's video chat, KnotChat is text-only today.
Does KnotChat have video chat like Omegle?
Not yet. KnotChat is text-first to stay fast and easier to moderate. Video is on the roadmap but text is the focus today.
Is KnotChat safer than Omegle was?
KnotChat adds a captcha gate against bots, server-side rate limiting, easy reporting, and never stores chat content — controls Omegle added only later in its life.
